How is a Key Helpful in Identification and Classification of an Organism?
Key is a tabulation form of diagnostic characters of species, genus, family, order, class etc in a dichotomous series for rapid identification. Each statement of taxonomic key is referred as lead. For defining every taxonomic rank separate taxonomic keys are used. Taxonomic key is useful in identification of unknown species. It of two types-indented and bracketed.
