Divisible by 10

The divisibility rule of 10 states that If the last digit of a number is 0 then the given number is divisible by 10.

For Example: Check whether 5400 is divisible by 10 or not?

Solution:

As the last digit of the number is 0 hence, 5400 is divisible by 10

Here are Few Examples Illustrated on the Divisibility Rule of 10:

1. Check whether the following numbers are divisible by 10 or not and state why?

(i) 8500

(ii) 4213

(iii) 1478

(iv) 33060

(v) 850

(vi) 4230

(vii) 45822

(viii) 1008

(ix) 7400

(x) 3090

(xi) 6010

(xii) 4512

(xiii) 8500

(xiv) 6302

(xv) 2450

(xvi) 4400

(xvii) 5063

(xviii) 4710

(xix) 2050

(xx) 7475

Solution:

(i) 8500

Since the last digit is 0 hence, 8500 is divisible by 10

(ii) 4213

As, the last is 3 hence, 4213 is not divisible by 10

(iii) 1478

The last digit is 8 so, 1478 is not divisible by 10

(iv) 33060

As, the last digit is 0 hence, 33060 is divisible by 10

(v) 850

The last digit is 0 hence, 850 is divisible by 10

(vi) 4230

Last digit is zero hence, 4230 is divisible by 4230

(vii) 45822

The last digit is 2 hence, 45822 is not divisible by 10

(viii) 1008

The last digit is 8 hence; the number is not divisible by 10

(ix) 7400

7400 has 0 as the last digit so 7400 is divisible by 10

(x) 3090

3090 has last digit 0 hence, 3090 is divisible by 10

(xi) 6010

The last digit is zero hence 6010 is divisible by 10

(xii) 4512

The last digit is 2 hence, 4512 is not divisible by 10

(xiii) 8500

The last digit is 0 hence, 8500 is divisible by 10

(xiv) 6302

The last digit is 2 hence, 6302 is not divisible by 10

(xv) 2450

The last digit is 0 hence, 2450 is divisible by 10

(xvi) 4400

The last digit is 0 hence, 4400 is divisible by 10

(xvii) 5063

The last digit is 3, hence 5063 is not divisible by 10

(xviii) 4710

The last digit is 0 hence, 4710 is divisible by 10

(xix) 2050

The last digit is 0 hence, 2050 is divisible by 10

(xx) 7475

In 7575 the last digit is 5 hence, 7475 is not divisible by 10

2. Rewrite the series with numbers that are divisible by 10 in a different color:

7850                9600                3050                1008                5420                45686              4730

Solution:

7850       9600       3050       1008       5420       45686       4730

3. Fill in the blanks with digits so as to make the following numbers divisible by 10:

(i) 78 … 0

(ii) 857 …

(iii) … 560

(iv) 110 …

(v) 630 …

(vi) 4 … 20

(vii) 3 … 40

(viii) 830 …

(ix) 408 …

(x) 753 …
